Diptyque Rosa Mundi

Hiddley Ho Ladies,

It's no secret that Diptyque have cult status in the world of candles, but when it comes to luxe candles, Jo Malone and The White Company's offerings have always suckered me in, whereas I always talked myself out of making a Diptyque purchase... until now.

When I lost my Liberty virginity last week, I visited the little Diptyque area, and was quite underwhelmed by the candles that I smelt, until I reached their two limited edition candles.
My friend picked up the darker of the two, which was basically Christmas in a candle, and absolutely sublime - whilst I couldn't resist taking the Rosa Mundi candle home with me.
I love that the packaging is different from the usual clear jar with white label, and instead is an opaque white jar with pink label - it's only a simple difference, but it makes me love it that bit more!

This is truly the most beautiful candle that I have ever smelled, let alone owned - it is the ultimate girly candle, with its rose scent, and almost baby powder like fragrance.
I'm not usually a fan of rose scents as they can be a bit old lady like, and if too heavy, can easily give me a headache, whereas, this is so soft and beautiful, and a welcome addition to my tiny dressing room AKA my girly haven.
I have never in all of my life, smelt such a beautiful fragrance for the home, and I'm considering angering my bank manager and purchasing another, as this lovely is limited edition and is exclusive to the Diptyque website and Liberty.

If you are looking for a gift for the ultimate girly girl, with luxe tastes and a penchant for all things pretty, then this would make an incredible gift - in spite of it's £42 (ouch) price-tag, I couldn't recommend it any more.

Do you have a favourite Diptyque scent?

Anyway lovelies, I hope that you have the most wonderful Saturday possible and come over and say hi on Instagram if you haven't already!

Michael Kors Selma in Pearl Grey

Hiddley Ho Ladies,

In my what I got for Christmas post I briefly mentioned that there was one more present to be featured, but knowing what bag lovers so many of you are, I thought that I would dedicate a specific post to it.
The bag I received for Christmas was the Michael Kors Selma in Pearl Grey, and I fully blame my beautiful friend Dyno for taking me to the Michael Kors shop in Westfield London where I first spotted it.

Love that the light interior makes it so easy to spot things inside...

This baby actually didn't arrive until last week due to it being sold out everywhere, but hey, sometimes the waiting makes it feel all the more sweeter when you do get your hands on it!

I already have the black version for work and knew that I love it, and having wanted a grey work bag for the longest time (I thought that it would be a nice alternative to black), it was love at first sight!
It's so rare to find a grey bag with silver hardware too, seriously rare.

The bag costs a whopping £315, not top end as designer bags go by a long shot, but a lot more than a bag from the high street - that being said, I really do love the Selma bags, and how understated they are compared to a lot of the other bags from the brand.

What do you think of my new love?

Anyway lovelies, I hope that you're all having a wonderful start to the week, and don't forget to leave a comment below with your thoughts on the Selma, any bags you're currently coveting, or pretty much anything - as always, I'm all ears!

Nighty Night

A 2013 Reflection

Well hello there Ladies,

2013 was an incredible year for many reasons...

I moved in with my love, and things could not be better.

My nephew was born this year, he is my first and only nephew/niece and it's so fun having a new generation beginning in our family.

I was made redundant, not the most obvious positive, but I would have stayed in that office bored and unfulfilled for a lot longer, whereas now I have a far better role, earn a better wage, no longer waste a ton of money and hours every day commuting and no longer have the same mundane daily coversations that I'd been having in my previous sleepy office for the past seven years.
Things in my new office are so much more dynamic and I'm so grateful to my former employers for closing my office... and the hefty redundancy payout wasn't bad either!

This year, after years of trying, my skin FINALLY cleared up and it seems my adult acne is finally gone.

For reasons unbeknownst to me, my finances seemed to improve right from the start of this year (not redundancy package related I promise) - not to the point where I'm now bathing in Champagne, but I just feel like I'm living a little more comfortably than ever before, and was even able to treat myself to a few nice things and a holiday for the boy and I.

Last but not least, when I look back at 2013 I'm overjoyed that *NSYNC reformed briefly at the VMAs - there is no love, like that between a teenage girl and her chosen boyband, and after more than 10 years of wishing and hoping, mine reformed for probably one night only, and truly it made my year!

So there we have it, the standout moments of 2013 for me - admittedly, them are some silly ones in there too, but there are tons and tons of other moments that have made this the best year that I can ever remember.
I have laughed to the point of crying more times than I can remember, and in all, it's just been an exciting and joy-filled year

The boy and I will be spending tonight eating Indian food, drinking Champagne and watching movies in the new PJs we got for Christmas - whatever your doing, be safe and have tons of fun!

Here's to 2014 ladies - may it be filled with love, happiness, prosperity and really, really good handbags!

Father Christmas Has Been!

Well hello there my Christmas fairies,

It's no secret that my new job has been the reason blogging has taken a back seat for the last few months, but I'm back today hoping that you all had a wonderful Christmas and with a highly requested post... what I received for Christmas!
I adore seeing/hearing what other people received, so hope that you will too...

First up I received some lovely Jo Malone goodies from my big bro in the form of their Earl Grey & Cucumber Cologne and their candle collection containing three candles in English Pear & Freesia (my all time favourite scent), Sweet Almond & Macaroon (a rich pastry smell) and Pine & Eucalyptus - which is exactly as I'd expect Father Christmas's house to smell like :o)

My brother also hunted me down this vintage Mulberry make-up case - I mean how precious is that?! I love the idea that my beloved Mulberry collection now has a much older piece, with its own history attached and that he included a note saying it could be for my make-up brushes or pencils at work - seriously I die, he is the most thoughtful man ever!

I actually squealed with delight when I opened this Nars Guy Bourdin Fling Lip Set from my sister - I hadn't mentioned anything about this range to her, so can't believe that she surprised me with it. These are my first Nars lip products, and I can't wait to give them a whirl. The lips shaped case has already become home to my back up lip products, as it is too cute not to reuse.

The boy delighted me with this set from OPI containing some all time classics such as Linkin Park After Dark, Cajun Shrimp, You Don't Know Jacques etc... I actually can't wait to give these a whirl!

Also along the nail theme, my Dad gave me this SensatioNail kit as I'm obsessed with gel nails and want to start doing my own - the standout feature of this kit for me, was that the gel colours claim to last over two weeks, but you can still use your regular polishes with the gel base and top coat for a week long manicure; so it's the best of both worlds.

The boy also treated me to this new hairdryer, as my current hairdryer and I were embroiled in a daily battle, due to it's short cord and constant overheating - so I'm thrilled to have a brand spanking new hairdryer to use.

This year saw my first ever dalliance into the world of Christmas jumpers, and the boy surprised me early with this gorgeous jumper from Sainsburys of all places!

He also treated me to these gorgeous black and cream satin PJs - I am OBSESSED with nice PJs, but these might be my fanciest pair yet. I'm looking forward to christening these on NYE, popping open these bubbles from my Secret Santa and having a cosy night in with the boy, watching films - speaking of which...

The boy and his brother spoiled me with these incredible film choices - I love ALL animated films, but must admit that Stepbrothers is right up my inappropriate street and one of my all time faves :o)

I've been wanting a really lovely white bathrobe for ages now, and the boy's parents came up trumps with the truly the most spectacularly soft and luxurious robe and cute matching slippers - there is actually nothing better than slipping these on after a bath or shower, they are amazing.

My boyfriend's parents also gave me Gucci Rush perfume, which I last wore years ago and brings back really good memories. My sister got me these cute knee length socks, which the boy is obsessed with, and these gorgeous berry scented tea lights which I've already been burning, and they are so fragranced that our entire flat smells gorgeous.
Bojan also got me some new exfoliating gloves, as trust me, my old ones had seen better days, whilst Bojan's brother gave me some delicious Molton Brown goodies to enjoy.

I'm guessing that Bojan admitted defeat and gave me these new earphones so that I would stop "borrowing" his!

Last but not least he sought out some chewing gum and bubble gum that isn't readily available in the UK, as he knows that the first thing I look for in foreign countries, is different varieties of gum - call me crazy!

Clearly word has gotten out of how much I like Lindt bears... a lot.

In summary, I cannot believe how spoiled I was - I don't believe that I've been spoiled with such incredible and thoughtful gifts from those around me since I was a child. I definitely do not deserve all of the above, and I cherish literally every single item I received.

I hope that you received some gifts that you could truly cherish too, and had a wonderful few days. I unfortunately had/have a really bad bout of flu, but compared to what some others go through this time of year, I realise that I am still truly blessed, as despite being really sick, I was surrounded by people that love me, with great food and films, and what more could I really ask for?!

I have also gotten myself a rather nice Christmas gift (well before I realised how spoiled I would be), but I'll share that with you all in a separate post.

Hope that you're having a terrific and hopefully still festive-filled day!

A Little Christmas Cheer

Hiddley Ho Ladies,

Just a quickie from me today, to say that I hope you all had the most wonderful and magical Christmases that you could have hoped for, and to give you a little recap of the last few festive weeks through the eyes of my Instagram...

Homebase festive cushion, 1st Christmas movie of the season - Miracle on 34th Street, Snow in Love by Yankee Candle, our tree - up since end of Nov(!), cuteness from Next, the world's most disappointing Advent Calendar, therefore additional Lindt purchases were a necessity, the true meaning of Christmas & Christmas dinner with the girls

Secret Santa did good, 2 years together, Christmas viewing, finally got ourselves a wreath, presents from the boy & Father C, Bojan asking me if he had too much "moose" in his hair, my homeboy Rufus the Reindeer, Lush baths are a Christmastime must, Christmas with the boy's family ♥

If you haven't already, make sure that you come over and say a festive hello at Instagram - my username is of course blushcrush

Once again, Merry Christmas you lovely little puds and I'll be back soon with a run down of what Father Christmas brought me, as I know quite a few of you have been asking. In the meantime, leave me a comment below, letting me know what your favourite gift was, be it one you received, or even one you gave to someone else...
Take care!

MUA Power Pouts in Broken Hearted and Rendezvous

Hiddley Ho Ladies,

It's no secret that my favourite kind of lip products are lip crayons, so when I saw MUA's Power Pouts a couple of months ago, I picked two up.
I'll admit that I didn't expect much from them, as they were only £3 each, but they are sublime!

They are a lot richer and creamier than Revlon's Just Kissable Balm Stains, think along the lines of Bourjois' Color Boost Lip Crayons.
They can be worn built up for good colour pay-off, but also quite sheer if something a little more subtle is your thing.

The MUA Power Pouts don't have the staying power of Revlon's offerings due to their creamier nature, but they do wear nicely and leave a pretty stain to the lips.

Broken Hearted

Rendezvous

Out of the two shades I'd say that Rendezvous is the winner for me, as I am really not a nude lip kinda girl, and even I love reaching for this shade. Such a great every day neutral, that would be perfect against all skin tones.

All in all, I'd definitely recommend the MUA Power Pouts, they are incredible value, super moisturising and would make incredible stocking fillers this festive season.

Have YOU tried MUA's Power Pouts?
Are you a fan of lip crayons?

In other news, we put our Christmas tree up on Friday night - my excuses being that Bojan is working the next few weekends, we wanted to see if we needed more decorations throughout our home, and truthfully, it's our first Christmas living together so we're super excited! If you fancy a glimpse into our festivities, come and check us out on Instagram @blushcrush

Hope that you're all super well - lots of love and thanks for reading!

Late to the Party...

Hiddley Ho Ladies,

The Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Booster has caused a stir amongst the beauty community for over a year now, and like most things that generate a hype, I deliberately avoided it, because I'm a stubborn so and so, who doesn't like to give into peer pressure :o)
However, with my skin clearing up over the last few months and actually becoming a lot less oily, and a little more dry and dare I say, dull; I knew that I was in need of something with some serious moisture-boosting properties.

The first product to spring to mind was the Hydraluron Moisture Booster, and I feel that for most people it is probably one of those products that you don't truly appreciate how well it works until you're suddenly without it, however, it doesn't deliver as a standout product on its own.
It's designed to be applied under your regular moisturiser day and/or night and I really would stress that this is not to be used alone, if you want optimum results. The unique feature of hyaluronic acid is that it can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water - therefore, slathering your skin in a rich moisturiser afterwards, will result in your skin really getting the most out of its moisturising quality.
We are all born with hyaluronic acid in our skin, but unsurprisingly as you get older, the amount found in your skin, dramatically decreases, and so when you introduce a product such as this into your skincare routine, even 27 year old, firm and plump skin, feels notably better.

I would say that in order to get the most out of the Hydraluron, you really need to consider the moisturisers you use. I only tend to use it in the evening, or at weekends when I fancy going make-up free for a pamper day, and I have to say that there's no point applying this, then slathering a good-for-nothing cream on top. Whilst Hydraluron boasts some serious claims, there's only so much you can get out of certain moisturisers, so invest in a good moisturiser and turn it into something exceptional with the Hydraluron - the two really need to go hand in hand, whether you're using this once a day as I do, or morning and night.

In summary I'd recommend this to anyone who has combination, dry or mature skin, and if any of you are interested, I'm currently using this a few times a week alongside the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask, and boy are they a match made in heaven!
If I don't feel like my skin needs too much extra moisture, I tend to apply it underneath Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and something rich and creamy such as The Body Shop's Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream, though ideally when I use that up, I'll swap it for Clinique's Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, as I think that will be an incredible combo.

The packaging is a bit "meh" and it's not cheap at £24.99, but it will last you for a good six months, and with Christmas coming and it being the worst time of the year for dry skin, why not pop it on your list to Father C?
Now if only Indeed Labs made a similar product for eyes and lips...

Have you tried the Hydraluron Moisture Booster - what do you make of it??
